Hello :) New Monstera parent here.. And I need help lol I lost 2 of the oldest leaves and now, a 3rd one is getting the same browning pattern. I’m scared to loose that one the same way. Any clue what is happening? I haven’t check the roots yet. Thank you!! 🤞🏼

Thai’s are notorious for root rot. I would check the roots and repot into a much chunkier soil. They need aeration around their roots. You can add orchid bark, large perlite and coco coir chips to regular potting soil

I've read that the oldest and smallest leaves often wither away when the plant has bigger leaves and doesn't need them any more. I hope that's what's going on with yours!

Like the other commenter said, the plant will often get rid of smaller leaves as it grows because they aren't as beneficial anymore. however, thai's are indeed infamous for getting root rot. please please please check the roots. if rotted, cut off ALL of the rotten bits, wipe down with peroxide and repot into completely new soil- preferably a much chunkier one than what you have it in now.
