Hey ya’ll, This may not be possible, but is there a way to straighten up my monstera? In my old apartment, the position I had room for it in caused that kinda twisted growth pattern. It kinda makes it hard to have specific places to put it. It’d look nicer also to have it go upwards instead of being a hunchback!

You would want to start its aerial roots growing. Some people use moss and seran wrap. Keep the moss moist and then once you have roots, you can chop and prop it with a better chance of it not going into shock.

I’m not clear what I do with the moss and seran wrap. I suppose I’m wrapping something, but what am I wrapping? The brownish root like projections coming out in different directions?

Ok, I’m a bit unclear. If I do the moss-seran wrap thing to grow roots, then I chop off the roots, and it sounds like I put those aerial roots with roots into new dirt. So I get, multiple monsteras. Least that’s what it sounds like. What about my hunchback monstera? Can I fix the twisted one I have now?

Folks, just so I understand, I can get some moss and the wrap up some or all of these arial roots until they grow roots. Then I can break them off and plant them in a new pot. That will get rid of the arial roots… which makes my monstera …look better?

No, you would chop the current monstera. And it would start separate plants from the one you have now. Which would allow you to reposition it into soil.
