Rookie plant mom

Hi New Monstere Mom here. I’m a little nervous here. There is one leaf that is yellow on my plant. Before I start doing anything drastic, I noticed there is a tiny offshoot at the very bottom near the root of this particular leaf. Should I do anything special at this point?

that’s one of the oldest leaves, just snip it off, she’s fulfilled her monstera duty lol 😊

if other leaves are yellowing, or start yellowing you’ll want to investigate

Thank you! Do I cut right above where the new bud is peeling through? Or just the leaf itself? Cut at an angle? TIA!

yeah just snip it at the base of the leaf. I can’t say for sure without a picture, but I’m thinking the node you’re seeing is an aerial root

Here is a close up. I tried to use arrows to point to the little node.

Ah yes, that’s just the spent sheath from when that leaf was new. That’s not new growth or anything. Cut the whole thing off, my friend!
