So I recently bought a monstera and I realized the sheef were the new leaf would come out is ripped on the side. Will my plant still be able to grow a new leaf there?

    The sheath has served its purpose once the new leaf has emerged. The next new leaves comes from the stem of the last, not the sheath. All good!

      Idk if you can see it but my plant pushed out a new leaf and I’m looking at it and where the next new leaf will come from the sheef is ripped. Will a new leaf come out of it still?

      I don’t really know from this angle. It kind of looks like you have a new leaf coming that might be a little bit stuck. If that’s the case you can drip some warm water on it and gently prize it out. But this indicates a lack of humidity generally. I don’t know what you mean when you’re talking about a torn sheath. Like I said before, the sheath serves no purpose beyond protecting the new leaf as it comes out. Once it’s out, the sheath with naturally dry up and flake away even
