Hello guys! I had a question about terracotta pots. I have a semi big monstera that has been doing quite good but I do notice that the soil that it’s in takes waaay too long to dry out. Would I be able to repot it into a terracotta pot? Or would that be a bad idea?

Add orchid bark and it’ll help absorb the water. You can do terracotta but it could dry it out too fast.

I also agree just be careful. I have a monstera in a 5inch terracotta. Terracotta helps absorb water which can help with overwatering. What might help you (if you don’t have this already) is well draining soil mix which can contain orchid bark, perlite, and other things. I would research and see what would be best for you. My monstera is in a 5inch terracotta with well draining soil mix. I water until I see it drain or you can bottom water which will take longer.

I'd just use a chunkier soil. I say that cuz terra cotta and I do not get along lol. And in my humid environment it actually seems to stay more damp.
