I had a surge of bravery this morning (hoping itās not stupidity). I pruned my monstera and working on propagating. It was large. I may have gotten dizzy šµāš« The āmother plantā is shown below. It seems that the leaves are pointed in 2 directions. Do I continue cutting here to make it one-sided?

That actually seems like a great idea. I would chop there and prop in water or leca. Before I did that, Iād identify the back of the plant. The petioles (or leaves) normally emerge from the āfrontā and the aerial roots from the ābackā. The plant wants to do it that way. Take that information and assess how the new leaves will grow in comparison to the old ones. That will tell you if this āproblemā will persist. When I did something similar, I was able to manipulate the stem a little (turn it) to make sure I could move forward with the plant growing in a manageable way. I also stopped rotating it cus who has time for a plant with a 9ā circumference?!?!?!? Itās growing season and many more leaves will grow. Think about how youāll prune (or tie) in the future and happy pruning!

ideally you want all of the leaves to face the same, if not a similar direction. they naturally grow on the sides of trees, so they're most comfortable when they directly face their light source (you can see those newer leaves reaaally stretching to face the window). i would cut this beast in half and prop the top cutting with hopes to pot the top cutting as it's own plant. pruning is wonderful for your plants! wish more people weren't so scared to cut things off lolol
