I already posted this on the propagation group, but realize it may be more fitting here. These are 5 separate monstera cuttings, ready to pot. I plan on using a mix of 2/3 cactus soil and 1/3 standard potting soil. Any comments on soil composition are welcome. I’m planning on potting all 5 in a single pot. Im looking for some advice on planting and staking that many cuttings. This is my first time propagating a monstera, and I have a mother plant that I found for free, so I’m always able to take more cuttings to experiment with. Thanks yall!!! 🌱🪴🌞

A mother plant that you found for free is insane… the universe has favorites because when will these things happen to me lolol The roots look great! The only thing I would do is move the cuttings into a larger jar for a little while longer, maybe a month, so the roots have more room to propagate just to make sure they have enough root growth for soil! The soil sounds really good! You can also add some fertilizer to help with the transition from water to soil For planting and staking, definitely moss poles since they’re larger cuttings! You can also add some pebbles or moss to the top of the soil for added support, but if they’re planted deep enough in the pot and have enough soil, they should balance fine and of course, once the roots establish, they’ll become very secure and stable on their own! Keep us posted on how it goes!

I was literally pulling out of my driveway and saw it on the sidewalk with a free sign. I stopped immediately and swooped her. That’s super helpful! I’m going to swap them into a larger jar right now. Any thoughts on the size of the pot? Also, do you think it’s okay to plant them centrally with all of the backs facing a central pole? Or do you always need to plant monsteras with backs facing the edge of a pot?
