I rescued this Monstera in June. Here’s a pic of when I brought it home for $3 and what she looks like now. The newest leaves aren’t giving any fenestrations, is it a light issue? She’s repotted in a tub right now because it was super leggy and didn’t feel comfortable trimming and propagating at the time. I’m blown away about how much she’d healed in just a month.

Nice regrowth! 🤩 In my experience, lack of fenestrations is due to low light, like you said. But seen as yours is outside on your porch, that doesn’t seem like that would be the case. It might just be that the plant was really set back by the damage it took before you got it. It’s probably using a lot of its resources to recover. Have you been fertilizing? Increasing the nutrients it has access to might give it the fuel it needs to grow more mature looking leaves again. Just be careful depending on what kind of fertilizer you have/choose. Synthetic fertilizers do work, but they can cause root burn in higher doses more easily than naturally derived fertilizers do

This would make a lot of sense. When I brought it home it only had two very sad leaves and I repotted it in nutrient rich soil and it grew those darker high fenestration leaves, so it may be time for some fertilizer. I have an organic liquid fertilizer i’ll add next time I water.
