So, as soon as I split and repot my beautiful monstera they all got root rot and started dying off. For some reason, whenever I try to repot ANY plant they all die. (I just lost my two lilacs that I bought and followed the instructions exactly.) But, the experts were able to help me possibly save 2 of my monsteras. 1 has 2 awful leaves, a nub growing out into a root, what looks like maybe another root getting started, and possibly 2 new leaves getting ready to emerge. It's odd, cause 1 is coming out on each stalk! The other plant has 1 dire leaf, no roots as of yet to speak of, but a brand new leaf appearing and getting ready to open soon, I hope. Has anyone had a plant get this bad and come back in good shape or make babies from them?

The other photos that didn't show up were the 2 leaves shown here.

The leaves are already infected so it's hard. I would def get some Hydroguard and put that in your water you are propping with. That will help kill off the root rot. As for killing all of the plants you transplant, it could be a few things. I have over 80 plants and have transplanted at least 60+ of them. Some die, it happens. I killed a lot in the beginning. I'd suggest getting clear nursery pots. You can see the roots you have going on and are able to see if you are ready to water. You can place it into a cute cover pot and not have to worry about if it has enough drainage. Look into mixing your own soil. Miracle Gro is horrible and produces fungus gnats in every plant I've had in the soil and even have heard the same thing from some social media famous plant experts. You have more control of the contents. If that is too much, just purchase a nicer brand than MiracleGro. Speaking of fungus gnats, make sure you have those yellow sticky traps. When plants are in distress the hormones that attract pests. I have recently started to add We The Wild's line into all of my plants. The enrich powder, grow concentrate and protect spray. Adding the enrich powder to the soil of the transplanted plant is great because it puts beneficial bacteria to the soil and helps the roots. I have seen a crazy difference by adding it to my plants. Some that have shown little promise have suddenly become stunning. Use a knitting needle to check how wet the soil is. I wonder if your soil is too moist for the plant. I hope this helps!

Thank you for all the great information. I will definitely give some of them a try. I have a moisture meter to help me with determining when to water my plants now. Sometimes it works but a lot of the times I am still either giving to much water or not enough. That's with the meter, the app, and what people and websites suggest. I do make my own soil mix but it usually starts with the Miracle-Gro base starting soil. I will start taking out the Miracle-Gro and find something else in its place. Although I don't have much problems with gnats here is the dry heat of Nevada. Thanks again for all the help. I will try to let you know how things go.
