Hello, Unfortunately my monstera Thai con got sick and all his leaves went yellow, it was previously in a pot with chunky soil mix. I have removed it and tried to clean roots as much as possible and I have put it in the bottle with water and a drop of plant food. Is what I am doing correct? If there is any recommendations or suggestions on what I should do to give my plant as much hope as possible? I would really appreciate any help! Edit: I also want to add that, this plant has constantly only ever grown white leaves, is there anything I can do at this stage to prevent that?

The bottom roots look fine, my concern would be further up as it looks a little dark or a funny colour. If that gets worse you may have to chop again. You still have a node further up. Make sure the water is not tap water unless it is filtered, you can also use rain water. That’s all you can do for now. Just keep checking on the health of the stem. If rot sets in you will see it in the roots and smell it in the water, it is not pleasant😏 good luck. Not sure you can do anything about the white leaves but apparently there is a form of silicon that you can add which prevents their leaves from going brown. Never done it so Mr Google may have to be called.☺️

Thank you for your reply! I have a water filter jug somewhere so will change the water. And I’ve never heard of silicon before.. I will definitely have to look this up as this plant has been causing me a lot of grief 😆🍃

I had the same issue with an Albo prop, just bear with it. They are worth trying to save. 😊

Hi again! It’s been a few days since I changed the water to filtered water. There’s some white stuff around the jar and near the roots? Is that something that is normal?

It's Silica, works great for really all plants, but especially the vaerigated. To help fortify the plant cells. I use Silica Gold usually.
