Herman and I have been getting to know each other for about 2 weeks now! He seems happy, other than a bit of yellowing new growth at the soil level. Heâs still in Walmartâs mix. Whatâs the best soil mix to transfer him to? He came in a wick system self watering potâŠ
I repotted my Monstera in a âChunky Soil Mixâ which consisted of: perlite, orchid bark, activated charcoal, and potting soil. It did well with the transition from the Home Depot potting soil it was originally in (I got 3 new leaves since the changing of mix)

1 gilla I feel ya there! I have a good 10-10-10 plus fertilizer I add at half strength to the waterâŠthis happened a day ago tho, so I removed that water from the self watering reservoir.
The name! Thatâs clever! đ I agree with Jeiddy on repotting in a chunky soil mix. The peat-heavy mixes they come in are a ticking time bomb for root rot â especially for a Thai Con. It could also be root bound. My deliciosa from Walmart was severely root bound when I got it.

I just re-potted my Thai con from the nursery into a chunky soil mix from grow queen & she seems to be happy so far!! âșïž
That looks perfect for Herman! Probably better than the quick draining mix I add perlite toâŠright?
0 gillningar I canât speak from experience about those mixes but when I was researching best options for monsteras, that aroid mix came up pretty consistently!
