I’m thinking about trimming two leaves off my monstera. It is a wise choice? They have multiple brown spots and one is ripped quite badly. It was that way when I bought it. Any and all advice and methods would be appreciated! This is the first time I’m trimming a plant, I’m quite new to being a plant person. Thank you!

It depends where they are on the plant and how many other leaves it has. If they’re the smaller, older leaves it should be no problem but it could affect the plant’s growth if they’re the most recent leaves. The plant will also need enough leaves to photosynthesise and continue to grow, so if there aren’t many others it might be better to wait, but if they’re two of many, it’s probably fine.

There are nine leaves in total, and I do believe they are older leaves, they were there when I bought the plant.
