My Monstera has started growing roots out of the soil. What action needs to be taken? Also, I’m sure I need to thin out some of this plant. How do I do this?

Those look like Ariel roots which are supposed to grow out of the plant and into the air when matured! In the wild they would grow towards sources of water (how cool)!! For “thinning” I think you mean pruning which would be to clean off a tool to cut it, scissors, pruning sheers honestly whatever as long as it’s clean! Don’t chop any of the bigger leaves but the smaller ones you can chop so the plant can focus on the bigger leaves/root system! If it is indeeed roots that means she has outgrown her pot and would need to be repotted! Best of luck!!

Thank you so much. I’ve seen similar growths in a few areas near Boca which have been restored as wetlands. Yes, very cool.
