I’m getting my first monstera. It’s a 4 inch Thai Con. Any suggestions for a first time monstera dad?

Humidifier is gonna be your friend if your ambient humidity is less than 60%!

Chunky soil mix with lots of perlite, orchid bark, coco husks, ect. Give it as much indirect light as possible. Morning direct sun light could be okay depending on your location. Prone to root rot so dont overwater. Extra humidity is a plus but they can do fine in ambient.

Get some silica gold to put in every watering to help with any browning of the white bits

if you can't get your hands on a humidifier, misting unfurling leaves will stop them from tearing, and a pebble tray can temporarily increase humidity. don't move it too much, monsteras only like to face one direction, as that's how they grow in the wild. i have my thai con indoors right under my fan, and it's just fine, but my area has an avd indoor humidity of 40-50% 😅

Yes but worth the wait my Thai constellation was a start. It had one giant leaf, but a wonderful root ball. It took three months before I saw another leaf, which was just recently and I finally see a 3rd leaf budding. She’s beautiful.♥️♥️

I let my girl dry out completely in between waterings and just keep her misted and she has a moss pole that I keep damp. She seems to be doing really well.

If your plan isn’t getting plenty of light, I would recommend getting a grow light to get those big fenestrated leaves

I would recommend the 32w Sansi grow bulb
