Hello! I am a first time monstera owner and am very excited to see this plant thrive (hopefully)! I watered it 5 days ago but the top soil still feels very dry. This plant is next to the heater but I’ve only just turned on my heater (yesterday). Was hoping for some guidance on if I should water again or should I just leave it alone! Any tips/comments would be helpful! Thanks!

i’d suggest, don’t base the watering schedule on the number of days it’s been. better to go by the dryness of the soil. that newer leaf is picture perfect!

Thank you! Any advice on the best watering practices? I’ve been watering the soil and letting it drain out the bottom and spraying it.

i’m a big fan of bottom-watering. i water my monstera when the top 25% - 50% of the soil feels dry i’d also suggest looking up care tips online, from real professional plant people lol i’m also still figuring it out

They hate staying dry and will droop and yellow then brown as a result of being too dry for too long.

I think it’s probably fine. They are perfectly fine getting dry, and I let mine get almost entirely dry to the bottom of the pot. I check with a wooden skewer.
