Monty, as I call him, was not even 3ft tall when I bought him. He’s been a part of our family for four years and this is what happened…. I’m contemplating cutting him back a bit, but I haven’t done the research yet. Any help would be very much appreciated in the comments.

CUT HIM BACK!!! i did it to my huge monstera, Maggie, and she put out the biggest leaves i’ve ever seen with second fenestrations! it takes a while for them to bounce back but they do so beautifully and with the most magnificent leaves! plus i got to give all my cuttings to friends:) he also looks like he could use more light, i would invest in a grow light if you don’t have a brighter window. show pics of the cut!! best of luck🫶

I’ve cut Monty back twice since our last exchange. Made two good size pots for friends. Three weeks ago, my daughter and I repotted him. He’s on a trellis now

Love your message. I took the picture late in the day so light wasn’t it’s usual. Any tips on cutting? How far back did you cut? I have a room with grow lights so that I can propagate the cuttings 😊

I’m in the same boat. Purchased it 1.5 years ago when it was 1/2 the size and I haven’t repotted it yet not done large trimming (scared to)
