Hello everyone! I received some great advice about caring for my monstera last time I asked so I thought it might be worth asking again. Around 4 weeks ago I got this guy, and the leaf in the image below accidentally got seriously spiked by my cactus. The damage has killed off the tip of the leaf (though it doesn’t seem to be spreading) and the cactus spines have been painstakingly removed, but I’m not sure what to do with the leaf now. With damage like this, is it better to remove the leaf, or just leave it? Will the plant drop it on its own if the leaf is bad for it? Would really appreciate some clarification! In other news, the first new leaf since I got it unfurled the other day and I was so excited! I was worried I wouldn’t be able to take care of it well enough but it seems to be relatively happy for now.

You could honestly just cut the brown part off the leaf if you want and it’ll be fine. The plant likely won’t drop the leaf if the brown isn’t spreading so you’re fine to just leave it

I would remove it. I had a burned leaf and cut it off and it looked better and was fine.

For me, I would just cut off the brown. The rest of the leaf is still working for the plant. Now she has character. I don't ever expect my plants to look flawless. I have a peace lily that get a leaf tucked into a vacuum hose. Leaf is shredded, but still alive. It makes me snort laugh every time I notice it.
