Hi guys! 👋 I have just received my Thai Constellation today. I haven’t grown a monstera for a long time and I have never started so small so I have a few questions. This pot seems small to me, should I give it a couple of weeks to adjust to its new place and then maybe repot? Or do you think it’s ok? Unfortunately it arrived a little damaged too 😞

Is it in soil and it just has moss on the top? I’d try taking some of the moss off to see. That looks like Thicker moss than sphagnum moss. If it’s just a later of it on the top, remove it bc they prob put it on to retain moisture during shipping but it’s not needed anymore. If it’s thicker moss all the way through I honestly might repot sooner bc that would retain too much moisture for these guys that are prone to root rot.

It is a tiny tiny bit of moss. Most of it is soil. I have a monstera mix from Grow Tropicals ready to go when I do repot.

Gotcha sounds good! Yeah I’d just remove that moss on top in the meantime! And then just go 1-2 inches larger than the root ball whether that means staying in the same pot or not

Check your local Walmart. My daughter just bought one from there for $40. I also saw the site Plant Proper has them back in stock for $45. Pretty good prices!
