Just adopted this giant unwanted monstera from the high school. It’s so gangly that it can’t stand on its own. What do I do?

MikimotoMe personally id chop it where the node/aerial root for the each leaf is, put them water and wait for it to get a good root system then pot it back up into soil. They will form new growth points. If u want more plants you could chop up the nodes along the stem and try to propagate those so they could become their own plants. But I feel like that would just end up taking too much space😭

NikillerHaircut time! Long stretching out leaves means it’s been reaching for light and that doesn’t fix itself, the only way to get a denser more sturdy plant is to grow new. I’ve seen where someone cut every leaf off their monstera, but because it was heavily rooted and on a moss pole, it was able to shoot 15 new leaves instead of the original 10 or so. I just spent an hour or so the other night mutilating 4 monstera to separate them from their root bound pot and put them all in their own and they’ve all been much happier for it even though they lost a lot of their root mass.
