Hey all! I just got my dream/1st Monstera today and have been doing some research into the care for it. I will be getting a stake for it soon once I have it repotted. I think she needs to be repotted soon as some of the roots are getting a little visible. Any tips on care for a 1st time monstera owner? I'm located in Colorado with eastern facing windows!

They like a good chunky mix (potting soil, orchid bark, perlite, coco coir chunks). Thai constellations are known for root rot, so I’d let it dry almost all the way out. Since you’re thinking about repotting, I’d strongly suggest getting a clear, plastic, nursery pot so you can keep an eye on the roots. Also, when watering add some silica to help keep the white/cream pieces of the leaf healthy.

Hey! I have mine just sitting in the widow and I just water it when it’s dry, they are pretty easy, they get root rot easy but if you don’t overwater it they are easy plants! You’ll do great!💚

The advice I like to give plant newbies lately is only change one thing about the plant 's environment at a time
