My understanding is that is from lack of light. Is that its usual home?

no but it’s close to it. it’s pretty dark today, but it’s south facing and gets pretty direct light

I would try increasing the sunlight. They can handle direct sun all day. Usually when the fenestration’s aren’t increasing it’s due to lack of light.

Your baby is a baby. I’m not sure how old monsteras are when they start giving you fenestrated leaves but it will, just give it time 🙏🏼

    Fenestration usually comes with age

I know, I was so anxious for mine to fenestrate. Took me about a year and a half

I see at least 2 plants in that pot, maybe 3. Did the newest leaf come from the same vine the fenestrated one did? Or is it from a different vine that hasn’t fenestrated yet? Fenestration comes with age but more importantly it comes with adequate light. A step backwards tells me it needs more light. If you can’t give it more natural sunlight, then a grow light is a good option. You can get bulbs that you install into a simple desk lamp.
