What here (if anything) is salvageable? I’m sure it’s rotted, but how bad? Backstory: purchased 7/4, discovered it was severely waterlogged 7/5, repotted on 7/14… today, I’m checking the soil and these pulled out easily; some smelled fishy. All the others were complete mush 😓 What are my next steps? Help!!

Honestly that plant is very salvageable, spray some hydrogen peroxide on the roots to kill the rot, and after waiting for a little check on them and cut off the dead stuff. Worst case you still have a node above all those roots so really you can cut all those roots off and still be fine if you put it in water

Yep, a lot of those roots still look fine. Gently squeeze each root. If it’s mushy, cut it off. Then use hydrogen peroxide. Make sure to leave the roots out to dry for a couple hours before potting it up again. I recommend using the smallest pot you can, and a chunky soil mix will help keep the roots healthy.
