Well, I just repotted my girl…. I’m nervous of how she will do. I got a live moss pole and I’m not too sure about it…. It makes the pot very top heavy and how do you keep the moss moist? It came with a water reservoir on top, I just don’t see how water dripping will keep the whole thing moist. Also, I got soil for monstera plants, but it seems like it holds on to water too much. Cross my fingers she does well!!!! She’s only two years old but I love her.
You’re doing great! I recommend switching the pot soil to something w more air flow. This is an orchid mix w moss.
Do you think it would stress her out to repot her again in a few days? I want to get a heavy, ceramic pot and the orchid soil. I don’t think it would do too much harm? I heard they are pretty tough plants. I thought I’d save money and get this plastic pot because the ceramic pot I wanted was like $40. But after realizing how top heavy it is, I need the heavier pot. What do you think?
0 Me gusta I dont think it will stress, it very well be the relief its looking for! Also Im learning that you are better off having a decorative pot but still potting the monstera base roots in plastic nursery posts to prepare for propagation. So whichever pot you currently have just use it as decoration. Its easier too when repotting.
Also agreed you may need a heavier base if your pole is causing the top to be heavy esp when fully saturated w water. Not sure if the chunky mix is lighter than soil by weight comparison esp when it begins to dry

I never kept my moss pole moist and my monstera attached itself anyway lol. I put mine on when it was tiny though so it attached as it grew upwards
