So excited to see the progress of my Thai constellation and to see how big the newest leaf already grew and harden in 10 days especially with this being my second plant ever . I am concerned though because I notice a little brown spot on the leaf 😫 it’s been there since I bought it and hasn’t gone away does any one have any ideas ? I also notice that I have some mushrooms growing in the soil ? Should I be concerned about its little mushroom pot pal?

Thank you so much ! I’m so excited cause this is the only the second plant that I ever grew ! I kinda consider it my first cause aloe takes little to no care for it 🤣

gorgeous!! unfortunately, brown spots are permanent- almost like a scar. the brown won't revert back to green but if it continues to spread, i'd check the roots and soil to signs of over/underwatering. as for the mushrooms, they are typically harmless and a sign of healthy (and moist) soil. you can remove them if you'd like :) hope this helps!

Aww thank you was most definitely helpful ! I have yet to see the brown spot grow or anything so I’m in the good status then lol nice to know that the mushroom pals are technically a good sign thank you ☺️

Leaves with a lot of white variegation will always get brown spots. The white part can't photosynthesize and so it's useless to the plant, so any sort of bruising will cause a die off of those cells because the plant won't bother to try and heal it. One thing you can do to help is give it a bit of silica in its watering and fertilization routine. She'll use the silica to build stronger cell walls and you'll get less browning. The mushrooms are a good sign. It means the soil is healthy.

Mushrooms in the soil are actually a FANTASTIC indicator of soil health. They are probably growing from wood chips decomposing in the potting soil and do not take nutrients away from the plant. In many cases they have symbiotic relationships with plants.

The mushroom looks like possibly a copprinoid species. They're harmless to the plant but you'll want to remove them if you have curious pets or children that might try to eat them (they're kind of iffy on edibility and have been known to make people sick if eaten with alcohol)

Thank you , all little ones are far from plants so in that case no concern
