Do I need a moss pole, to rotate, or leave as is. Iā€™ve recently bought my first ever monstera, and the stem thatā€™s falling to the left is attached to the main stem in the pot, itā€™s always been slanted since I bought him but think heā€™s sticking further out, my latest leaf is also now joining in. What do i need to do as Iā€™m not sure if heā€™s just reaching for more light, or itā€™s sticking out as it was originally and is getting too heavy. The stem feels thick solid and sturdy, no worrying signs.

      Okay thanks :) annoyingly I canā€™t move him any closer without getting sunburnt (learnt that the hard way) do you think adding a stem just to support is a good idea? Or is it not quite big enough yet ??

      If you slowly acclimate it to that window spot it shouldnā€™t get sunburned. An hour during morning light for one week then the next two hours etc should work. I would add a support personally if you want the plant to get taller. Otherwise chop and prop eventually

    You have a couple different options. There is more than one plant in that pot. Do you want to leave it that way & just rotate it occasionally for a full look all around? Or do you want to split them up & have multiple plants to keep or sell? I think trying to stake one of the multi-plant pots would be a nightmare, but the singular ones could definitely be corralled with some sort of support. I love the monsteras that I have on poles, and I miss the messy multi-plant pot I separated that brought me joy to rotate & keep full šŸ˜‚ Really just depends on what look youā€™re hoping to achieve.

      *as an added note - if you end up separating, wait for your new leaf to harden off. If you donā€™t itā€™ll look permanently sickly.

    I wanted to add that Monstera has a front and a back. Rotating will just make it look messy even with multiple plant in it since they will follow the light.

      True, and the back goes against the support if you go that route.

    I would agree she needs more light, if you want full growth on both sides you can rotate, you donā€™t need a moss pole, especially due to the fact your pot has like 4 different plants in it so it has a ton of different stems.

    Also she will love growing on bamboo or any other kind of stake if you donā€™t want to commit to the moss pole life!!
