This is my Monstera, I got it last year wrapped in a damp paper towel, I let it grow in water for quite some time and now we’re here. It’s never kept more than three leaves and I’m not entirely sure why (ignore the cat eaten leaf, they got to him before I could). Whenever the third leaf unravels the oldest leaf turns fully yellow then drops not too long afterwards. But the other leaves look and stay looking healthy during that whole process. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to get it to grow fuller, and how to get it to keep its leaves. I love this plant so much and I just want him to thrive

I think the oldest leaf is currently starting to go on its way out :((

Now they aren’t in ‘hibernation’ from the winter have you started back up with fertiliser? It’s pretty common for it to suck up what it needs from old leaves to fuel new ones, but that eaten one seems otherwise okay for now, and the plant may just need time until it can become fuller, you’re keeping it plenty healthy enough though!

Adansonii are tricky! They are SO sensitive to temperature changes. Mine is in a super chunky mix hanging in a south-facing window. I got mine as cuttings too and it’s only been potted for a few weeks. I have never seen one of these really *thrive* but I’m not giving up.
