    I’m usually all for water props, but I always wrap moss around the aerial roots and then secure that with plastic wrap for my monstera and it’s works out for me. I’m terrified of root rot 😂

    To answer this, look at plants in nature who grow aerial roots. The aerial roots will attach to a tree and absorb water that trickles down the trunk when it rains (in our homes, sphagnum moss poles would replicate this) If the aerial root is not close enough to the tree, it simply grows down until it reaches the soil to drink from. If you look at this pic, you can see super long aerial roots hanging down!

    I have an aerial root in water for my monstera and when I added it, almost immediately there were new leaves growing so it has worked really well for me
