I’ve never done anything to get this buddy under control. Seems generally okay except feels kinda gangly and sprawling. Any tips?

Use a moss pole

NunyabzwxA moss pole or it looks like it would be better if you got it a trellis so you can tie all the stems to it facing one side. I've got mine on a trellis let me see if i have a recent picture of it that way and I'll show you.
