I've had my variegated monstera for about a month now, it's under a grow light, I wait for the soil to dry out in between watering and have the humidifier going about every other day. The smaller bottom leaf is starting to yellow and the white parts i've noticed have these tiny dots. One of the leaves has also developed a black spot. I'm confused on what could be happening ? Thank you in advance!

It may just be part of acclimation. If it came from a greenhouse that had perfect light, temps, humidity, etc., sometimes the plant lets the oldest leaves die while it adjusts to its new environment. I would keep an eye on that dark spot though. Do you have a humidifier by chance?

noted! I do, I’ve been a bit inconsistent with turning it on could the lack of humidity have played a part of it?

It could be, especially if you live somewhere that your house is being heated right now. If I didn’t have my humidifier, my house would be dry as a bone this time of year

I don’t know about the black part, I have certain plants that struggle with spots too but I did want to say I keep my humidifier on. I don’t do every other day because they like consistency

I will say it could be edema. Some of my plants had that if their roots were too bound up and not able to take water in at a consistent rate… once I fixed the issue the new growth didn’t get any spots. I have a party time plant (she’s my absolute favorite) that I’m gonna see what’s up with her because she keeps getting water soaked brown spots that dry out. (Always on the pink never the green parts of her leaves). So I’m actually about to take a look at her roots right now and maybe replant in new soil
