Hii! Just got this monstera yesterday and am loving it, I’m a bit of a new plant mum any tips? Anything is helpful, even just basic care 😅 amount of water, how much sun should it be getting etc. It seems to be leaning a little bit (I’ve seen people use climbing poles - should I do that? If so how?) thanks a lot!

Misting doesn’t actually help as much as people think it does, a humidifier is the best option. A pole support is important for a monsteras development so definitely need that. They are tropical plants so they can handle most sun as long as it’s not super direct. Keep the leaves clean so they can absorb nutrients and happy plant parenting!

I have nether a humidifier nor do I mist regularly and is doing well. I have a grow light on it for about 10 hours a day. And I recently added a moss pole. I’m ready for a 2nd monstera.🤍🪴

That’s so cool! Is the moss pole good? Im considering getting one as mine is quite big and growing very fast.. would a bamboo cane work the same? Thanks 😊

I don’t know too much about the moss poles. It’s just one I bought off of Amazon, but it seems to be doing good and it’s pretty sturdy.

It will pull a bamboo cane over pretty quickly. A sturdy moss pole is your best bet. Once it’s settled in, some conservative pruning of the small lower leaves might help to lighten the load a bit. Misting is a personal choice - I’m trying to cut down. Worth checking how humid your house is. Someone else said Montsera like 40-60% - ideal is the higher end of that but I’d say 40-50% is fine.

They love bright indirect light. Moist but not overly wet soil. Humidity between 40%-60% (correct me if I’m wrong). Also, give your plant something to climb onto like a moss pole or coco coir pole
