These baby mushrooms just appeared on my beautiful monstera. (Don’t judge that I haven’t repotted her- she’s perfectly happy and I don’t want to jinx it. lol) I’ve read it’s either that the soil is rich or that I’m overwatering her. I really don’t think I’m overwatering. Thoughts?

I read and article that if you have mushrooms in your soil it’s high in nutrients. A few of mine have them and I have just left them. My plants have not changed because of them.

i’ve had the same thing in my SOH, and yes, it means the soil is high in nutrients but could also mean that it’s a little too dense. mushrooms thrive in moist areas that lack airflow. keep in mind that some mushrooms that grow in houseplants are thought to be poisonous in case you have pets or kids.

It’s still in the original container I bought her in maybe 2 years ago so soil hasn’t changed. Maybe she’s ready for a repot…? Thanks for point about mushrooms. I have cats and grandkids, neither of which- so far- show any interest in this plant but I’ll keep an eye on!
