It’s been about ten days since I planted my tissue cultures. I am starting to slowly acclimate them to fresh air and they are doing great. Look at the new leaf on my crème brûlée monstera, Meriadoc. Bilbo is an albo.

You do lids off at 10 days? Does this work well for you? Like what is the rate of success? I usually spend 6 weeks just slowly adding holes before I even attempt lids off so I am curious. Maybe I can shorten my process 😳
1 likeMaybe it’s not the right thing for me to do? I got them from OLN and they said after about ten days start acclimating them by taking the lids off for short periods and increasing it each day.
1 likeOh gotcha. I thought you were saying you were already lids off at day 10. I usually use a soldering pen to poke a hole on day 7 so they drop from 100% humidity to 97 ish. Then I add another whole a week until 6 weeks slowly decreasing the humidity. By then they are pretty much at my ambient humidity in the cabinet I start TCs in so I can just remove the lids. It’s so exciting to watch them grow. Good luck with your babies 🥰
1 likeYour plan sounds better. These are my first tissue cultures so hopefully I don’t mess it up.
1 likeIf your way works it’s a lot faster ☺️ TCs are pretty easy as long as you don’t infect them or shock them. If yours are responding well then it should be fine.
