My monstera is growing out as opposed to up. Would a moss pole be the best way to help it vertically?

Yes but don’t get the curly coco coir ones. Get ones like the D shape one that you fill with something like Sphagnum moss. If you want recommendations i can find some.

If you don’t want the fuss of a moss pole, you could use a plank of wood 🪵

I agree this option cost effective and probably less time consuming considering you have to keep the moss pole moist (some people use a drip system on the top to spread downward) The plant would need to be trained to root into the board first though if you want it to grow into it rather than it just be a stake in the soil, so you’d need aerial roots. And watch for if it gets too wet and rots.

I’d be interested in how to use a plant of wood!
