Hi all, I posted a while ago about my monstera clippings not shedding the brown sheath. I left it and yesterday 2 months later I decided to pull it off gently. This has actually revealed a growing stem that was trapped beneath it. When it first came out it had the black dead spike (pictured) but that fell off instantly and now it looks like this. What shall I do?
It looks like moisture got trapped in there and caused that tip to rot like that. I’d clean up all of the parts of the plant that were inside the stuck cataphyll using some diluted alcohol and castille soap and then dry it off very well

In my opinion, I would cut that and let it grow a new shoot. The next couple leaves that grow out of that damaged shoot will most likely produce damaged leaves. It’ll be faster to cut like ur propagating and wait for a new shoot rather than have it produce damaged leaves. But that’s only my opinion.

0件のいいね Id cut it right under the right leaf. Wondering where that arial root to the left is coming from. If it’s part of the top cut, you can cut the damaged leaf and water prop it.
0件のいいね Can cut right to the base. It’ll grow out of the soil if the node is just under. But yours looks above.
