I would love to have a monstera but I can’t fit one in my house, plus I don’t think I they are puppy safe. Do you think it would make a good classroom plant for a middle/high school? I really would love to have one. I do have a big southern facing window. Can monstera plants do well outside in their pots over the summer?

If you have the space for one then maybe. I would keep the monstera away from direct light from the window because afternoon light might be too harsh. Keep it in bright indirect light and if needed add a grow light. Monsteras are climbing plants so offer support with a moss pole or a trellis and attach the stems with a gentle string or Velcro tape. If you don’t, sometimes their aerial roots can manage to dig into walls or floors. Monsteras love humidity so if you live in a humid area with lots of bright indirect light your plant should be fine.

hey! maybe a mini monstera (Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma) could work for you? 👀 i’ve been eyeing this one myself and it looks so fun. it is a vining plant though so it will get long.

Here is my mini monstera and I just now put it on this wicker pumpkin I had in the closet. I had it in a pole, but it kept growing and growing! It’s super easy to take care of!

You actually have monstera adansonii here. Mini monstera is a different plant. It’s actually a nickname for rhaphidophora tetrasperma

I think it would if you had the space for it, as it can get pretty big. Mine loved my southern window. Monstera plants can do well outside in their pots over the summer as long as they’re acclimated to the conditions! I put mine outside every summer and it grew so fast.
