My monstera adansonii is putting out smaller and smaller leaves even though I’m encouraging it to climb with support. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    How much light does she get? I have mine right in the window and she loves it!

      She’s near a south window and also has a grow light

    Possibly time to upsize? Usually if all other conditions are good, smaller leaf production is a sign it’s ready for a bigger pot.

    If you want big big leaves, you gotta get a moss pole or a wooden trellis it can root into. A proper moss pole (a tube filled with moss), will give it far more stability to grow bigger leaves, the trellis you have now is causing it to rely fully on its stem for support.

      These guys grow up the sides of trees in nature. Imitating those conditions will give you the biggest happiest plant possible

    Ok thanks! I’ll have to do some research on making my own moss poles

      i don't recommend moss. you need to water it consistently. i've gotten away with a wooden plank and plant velcro 😂😂

    Smaller leaves than previous usually means either more light needed or more room needed for the roots. 💚💚

    I think they need water in the moss of the poles - like how water runs down tree bark as they climb in nature
