Help!! My monstera has thrips and I can’t get rid of them. The most recent thing I’ve tried is spraying the leaves with rubbing alcohol but that doesn’t seem to be working! Any advice appreciated, thanks 😅

My heart goes out to you. It could take a year honestly of constant care and cleaning. Thrips eat away and “live” inside the tissue of the plant actually, so you’ll need to clean and clean and clean and clean. I’ve always done a STRONG soak, cleaned with Neem oil or a peppermint insecticide, followed by another good soak. Big thing: quarantine your monstera from other plants.
1 j'aimeI got pirate bugs from naturesgoodguys and they are on the way because one of my plants might have thrips, and from what I have read that is one of the most effective ways at managing it! Tip: you spray with Neem oil, do it in your shower stall with a mask on, that stuff is gross.
0 J'aimeThanks both!! It really is a never ending battle! Show me the greens when you say a strong soak do you mean shower the plant?
1 j'aimeYes- a good shower will help
0 J'aimeAlso would you recommend mixing neem oil with anything or is pure best?
0 J'aimeI think pure is best. I commented below that I’ve also used the dawn soap treatment. Try that, soak in the shower and the next day use Neem. You’ll most likely need to do it a few times
0 J'aimeI use bonide systemic along with alcohol/dawn spray. I have saved all my buggy plants through the years with this.
4 J'aimeThis has also worked for me
0 J'aimeThank you everyone!
