I’m going to be repotting my beautiful monstera tomorrow but I’m unsure what to do about the extra roots that are outside of the soil - do I bury them in the new soil or leave them as they are or cut them? Also any recommendations on what type of soil I should repot it in?

    What a beauty. I've never had that dilemma. I have seen where people plant them, leave them out or simply cut them off. I'm sure some more knowledgeable than me will know.

      This is what I've read, as well. Haven't had first hand experience yet, though.

    I have planted the roots that could reach soil and all went well. The pot I use is too big, but I don’t ever want to repot so I used sphagnum mixed with leftover chunky orchid potting soils. Just ensure drainage so the root rot risk is lowest

    In nature the aerial roots hang down from trees until they find something to latch on to, so it’s up to you!

    I either cut them or burying them. Burying them make for a harder plant, since its one more root getting nutrients. But sometimes they aren't in the right spot to bury. I mix my chunky soil. But Sol Soil has a great chunky mix I like.
