I have two new leaves but one is deformed:( Did I do something wrong? Should I leave it or chop it?

    Maybe it’s still opening? Maybe more sunlight and it will open all the way?

      I just realized it’s the leaf in the background. That one does look sunburnt. I didn’t even notice it at first.

    So I’m new to monsteras but I have heard that they are sensitive when first unfolding so it maybe gotten too much heat from that side facing the window maybe .

    It looks like it got damaged before it had fully unfurled, It could have been sun damage or it might have knocked off something. New unfurled leaves are very delicate so a slight bump can cause damage. It always sucks when they get damaged especially when you’re eagerly awaiting a leaf to unfurl but you can leave it as is! The brown part won’t ever return normal but the rest of the leaf can continue to photosynthesise so once you’re not worried about the look of it you can leave it be :) I usually wait to chop it off unless most of the leaf is brown, or just trim off the unsightly edge if it looks bad
