Hello! I picked up some new plants last week. I just got home from my trip yesterday. I have them quarantined and sprayed with neem oil. Any first hand advice or suggestions on the Monstera Peru and Monstera adansonii?

I don’t have a Peru, but I do have an Adansonii. I think it’s slightly difficult but not too bad. It likes a lot of moisture and the leaves will droop if it’s thirsty. It also likes a lot of humidity and pretty bright light.

Thanks! I’ll move them to a much brighter location once they’ve passed quarantine. I really wanted a variegated Adansonii, but I figured this was a good start.

Same! The variegated ones are still so expensive 💔

There was a local plant swap here this weekend with beautiful mint adansonii (and I am not a variegated super fan) for $40. I skipped them because I don’t think it will have a good time here come winter lol

Yess that makes sense. I have mine in a cabinet “greenhouse” with 70% humidity. But it’s hard to keep the humidity up in the winter so I might get some crispy leaves. I have it in pon & with a sphagnum pole so I think that increases the humidity around it too

hiiiiiiigh humidity for adansonii. mine if thriving right now in an open west window. i don’t have central AC so humidity sits around 70+ indoors (more lately it seems 🥵) — stay tuned for the winter when i expect this to tank a bit

I have a cool mist humidifier running near my plants. Should I consider something more?

i would wait and see — if it starts getting crispy consider more humidity
