Hi friends! I inherited this beautiful monstera about a week ago, and brought it home to my patio in Cambridge,MA. It’s getting partial sunlight where it’s currently positioned and I also added a bit of new top soil when I got it. As you can see, within the first 48 hours, two of the leaves went almost completely yellow. I’m reaching out to get some advice as to what could possibly have caused this? Do I need to repot it with some fresh soil and/or look for any roots that might be rotting? Please help, thx!

Too much sun. Monsteras need bright indirect light. If I repot I typically do not water on the same day. I would just say move it to a more shady area for now

Bringing a plant home is enough to stress it out and drop leaves. I think your best bet is to give it some time to acclimate.

I’ll add to try to mimic the conditions it came from. Was it outside? Was it in a south/facing window?

It was outside for the month prior. I’m told that last summer it was left outside in a shaded area. No one regularly cared for it nor water it and it was completely fine.
