I bought this tetrasperma cutting off someone and have had it in water for like 6 months. It started out with 3 leaves, but one has since died off and the other two are dying now too. Can anyone help me figure out why it’s not rooting? I’ve already tried placing it with other rooted cuttings, and using rooting hormone.

It honestly looks like it has rot , if it’s been in water for 6 months it should already have some kind of roots. I would recommend spraying it with hydrogen peroxide and cutting a bit of the bottom off and place it in water with some rooting hormone and hope for the best

I agree with Evi, it looks a little bit rotten in places. I’d do what she suggested in terms of cleaning it up and maybe try moving it to moss or perlite with rooting hormone instead. Water propping always seems to take longer and be more of a gamble for me. I had a standleyana cutting that wasn’t doing anything in water and as soon as I moved it to moss it really took off. I use two clear plastic containers from presliced lunch meat 😂 One as a base and the other as a lid to make a little greenhouse situation and it’s worked way better than water propping for me.
