My monstera is getting very tall. My next step is to make a hole in the ceiling! Seriously, should I cut, prop in the same pot? Where do I cut and how do I deal with the long roots (?) embedded in the moss pole? There is new growth at the top and about ⅓ of the way up. I do not think it is root bound as of yet. Thank you 🙏!

    since it’s well rooted in that moss pole you’re in great shape to cut it pretty much anywhere — then you can stick some of the aerial roots into the new pot and extend the moss pole

    I second Carbs (based solely on my own research, it’s not something I’ve done yet). I’ve been finding Sydney Plant Guy on YouTube helpful as I am trying to learn more about climbing plants and moss poles, and I’ve seen videos on his channel speaking about this topic.

      I have not done any deep diving into plant content creators. But I see his and he makes it look so easy! With some foliage almost as big as him 😱. I’m slightly intimidated lol

      He has really great info! Very friendly and non-judgemental. I like the language he uses. I feel like I’ve learned all I can from him at present because he is a little niche — but his content is so approachable and it took a lot of the scary out of moss poles/chop & extend for me
