Please help! I need advice, I had visitors and they were staying in the room my monstera was in so I moved her outside. She got droopy and her newest leaf grew out tiny with no fenestraitions and the one side was all brown. She used to be so happy! I’m pretty sure I have her in the right light conditions and she’s getting enough water.

It sounds like the plant may have been burned. If you your Monstera isn’t used to direct sunlight it’s likely that’s what happened. It could also be the heat. Last summer, I put my Monstera outside for a couple of hours to get some natural light and fresh air, and when I brought it back inside, I noticed the same thing you’re noticing. Droopy leaves, browning and even some black spots on the stems and leaves. Monstera can go into shock if you abruptly change their environment, that could also lead to leaves drooping/dying.

Thank you so much! Will my monstera recover and is there anything I can do to help that you know of?

It’s possible. If you can post a pic, I’m either me or others on here would be able to determine it for sure. I would say if the leaves don’t perk up after a week or so you might want to consider chopping it that way it has more energy to recover new leaves. When mine got burned and heat exposure it perked up a bit maybe after a week but I lost a few leaves. Just a couple with the black/burn marks survived tho. I ended up chop&prop it in water and it’s been doing well.

Thanks so much, yes it has seemed to perk up a bit already, and no more burned leaves! I really appreciate the advice
