Came into my office this morning and found my girl .. sweating?? I’ve never noticed her put out water like this before. Is it normal? No humidifier in this room and no reason why it would be any type of condensation 🤔

it’s normal! did you water her recently? she’s just letting out excess water.
いいね 1件It was maybe 3 days after watering? But I noticed a couple wet leaves almost every morning. So maybe too humid in this room?

She’s a hydrated queen and just letting go of the water she doesn’t need :)
いいね 1件That is guttation. guttation is the process by which water exudes from the tips, edges, and surfaces of uninjured leaves of plants.

0件のいいねYou’re really my hero. Literally dropped what i was doing. Gave it a good rinse in the shower. Sprayed with Neem. Have you ever had them? It’s dried now and I don’t see any. Dare I assume they’re gone?

Aww, thank you. I'm glad I could help. Just make sure you isolate and check all your other plants and treat if needed.. You need to break the mite's life cycle, which I believe can be anywhere between 2-4weeks. Check and treat every 3-4 days for the next 2-4weeks. I generally isolate for at least 2 weeks. They are a permanent residents at my house, living here rent free, Rude!! 😆. I have a bunch of alocasias, which they absolutely love. All my alocasias are in a separate room for that reason. I don't sweat it anymore, they're easy to treat, but consistency is key. My initial treatment is 70% rubbing alcohol, and thereafter I use neem with bronner's peppermint soap and a bit of rubbing alcohol. Spidermites like dry conditions, raising the humidity with a humidifier will make their environment less hospitable. In severe cases, I prefer the bagging method, works every time. I just hose my plant down, and place it in a garbage bag, pot and all, close it up and leave it for 2 weeks. I do open the bag once a week for airflow, that's it. Easy and mess free. Also, if you take a finemist spray bottle with water., spay your leaves, the webbing if present, should show up much easier. Hope this is somewhat helpful. I'm assuming from your message, that this is the 1st time your dealing with mites, but don't worry, you got this. 😉
0件のいいねDo you sleep with your cape on? 😂 yes I do very much appreciate it!! And was in a bit of a panic. Maybe I should wear my glasses more often LOL. Thankfully it’s in my office all by itself. How they got to my plant 🤷🏼♀️ but will keep a close eye!! Thanks again, super hero! 🫡

Lol, You're so sweet. I remember the 1st time I got them,I was in full panic mode, I just tossed the entire plant. 😆 Luckily yours is by itself, that definitely helps and reduces the stress level. After a while you'll be able to spot them a lot easier. Keep your plant dust free and cleaning the leafs on a regular basis will help. I gave up trying to figure out where they came from. They just happen to show up whenever they feel like it 😂. I wish you best of luck!! and you're very welcome!🙂

I was surprised when my monstera did the same. The person who gave it to me said it's normal.
0件のいいねI guess I never check mine first thing in the morning. But now I see my Thai Constellation doing it too

The only reason I see it on the morning is that it's in the front window and I open the curtains.
