Is this root rot?? I bought a monster a week ago and noticed the roots are brown/mushy but they weren’t like that when I bought them! I only water my plants on Sundays and it’s been about 5-6 days since I bought it. I’ve already pulled some leaves out because their roots were brown and mushy. When it tried the AI diagnosis it said it’s not getting enough light. What should I do?

No expert here but I believe it is in fact rotting due to overwatering? The soil looks very wet - I have another app which seems to be better at diagnosing plant issues (I used your pics to diagnose) and here’s what it’s told me:

I’d attempt to remove any rotting plant matter (leaves, mushy stems and roots) and repot into new soil, and wait a few days before watering. It may have a chance of survival if done soon enough. Hope this helps:)

Thank you!! Is it possible it’s something I did? I’ve only watered the plant once since I got it 😭

Has the pot got drainage holes? It’s possible that you just gave it too much water at once that it hasn’t had time to soak it up, rot usually only happens if it’s left sitting in soggy soil, let it dry out for a while after repotting it and removing the rot :)
