My Swiss cheese Monstera has mealybugs according to ChatGPT. Any recommendations or throw the entire thing out?

    Oh nooo. I just found some on mine too 😭 isolate her. Use rubbing alcohol as spray I would cut the worst leaf off too. And then recheck and retest every 2-3 days. And a good rinse with water helps too.

    What’s worked for me in the past is a cold water rinse, and then I sprayed thoroughly, like to the point of dripping, with insecticidal soap, and I did that every other day for the first week and then weekly for a few weeks. My plant came back nicely. I would definitely cut off that leaf that is so full of them.

    Quarantine it and inspect any nearby plants sincle mealies can travel. Remove any visible mealies with a q-tip or paper towel soaked in isopropyl alcohol. (Seal that in a ziplock bag when you throw it away; mealies are tough and you don't want any survivors escaping.) Replace the soil in case any mealy eggs were there. Spray treat with any insecticide that's good on mealies (like neem oil). Inspect the plant daily, repeat the alcohol as needed any time you see a bug, and repeat the spray every 5 days (sprays only kill the young ones, alcohol can kill adults but may also burn the plant.) Mealybugs live 31 days, so if you go two months with no signs of insects, you're definitely done
