She’s a goner isn’t she 😭 I chopped my monstera for the first time and tried to propagate it to make it fuller. I let the cutting dry out for a couple days before putting it in sphagnum moss to root. What did I do wrong? 🥲

oh no better luck next time. primarily, i could be unclear but does not look like there’s a node for roots to grow anyway. but the wilting is likely from the water getting into the open cutting. it’s typically important to let the cutting callus to slow this from happening ☹️
3 LikesI agree that I don’t see a node, so a new plant wouldn’t grow from this cutting. It’s a zombie leaf
0 LikesI cut below the node of the newest leaf, is that not correct?
0 LikesI don’t see it. The node would look like a line or bump on the stem. It’s not typically that high on the leaf

Unfortunately yes. There is no node to be able to water propagate.
0 LikesI think I see the node it’s just rotted and shrivelled.
1 LikeI have much better luck propagating in water for about three weeks - makes it much easier if you include an Ariel root also as the roots quickly proliferate out from there! Maybe try propagating in water next time? It’s all learning 🙏🏼good luck!
1 LikeOh and change the water weekly as a minimum, I learned the hard way!
