    this is an aerial root

      I don’t have a moss pole, is there anything else I can do to the root to help it grow?

      Some people tie up a baggie of sphagnum moss underneath it to encourage growth.

      just let it do its thing — you don’t need to do anything to it 😊

    as they get longer the best thing to do with aerial roots, in my opinion, is to direct them back into the soil. this is what they do in nature, because once it reaches the ground the root will serve as an anchor point, to help support the plant and bring it more water and nutrients.
