I feel like my monsters isn’t getting enough sunlight even though I have it right next to the window. It leans towards the window like it wants more light. The leaves are starting to discolor and a lot of the “newer” leave won’t split. It’s been getting nicer outside, between 60-75 degrees, I live in South Carolina. Would it be a bad idea to set it outside and let it get some sun for the next few weeks or even until the end of summer?

Hey I’m in SC too and I think u should wait a few more weeks until u put it outside because nighttime temps do drop below 50F in early spring. (Well that’s in my area)

Try a grow light! They’re fairly cheap on Amazon! I got mine for $35 and it’s done wonders for all my plants but especially my monstera! She’s grown all kinds of new leaves and shoots! Consistent fertilizer and a good light source is a must

On another note, if you plan on bringing it back inside after outside you run the risk of bringing pests into your home and they can harm your other plants (if you have any) Mine are all strictly indoor and i regulate temperature with heat, i have a humidifier and a grow light and everyone is thriving! Including this weed! lol

I’ve had the plant for about a month and a half, and I haven’t repot it because it was thriving before, so I’m thinking it’s time to repot now. But I’m not sure what the best soil to repot it in is, I haven’t had the best of luck when it comes to re-potting plants, and I really don’t want to kill my monster.

I just repotted mine recently, it’s pretty big so it was a bit difficult alone. Maybe recruit someone to help you hold the plant part while you support the bottom. I removed as much old medium as i could without disturbing the roots. As long as your roots are healthy you should be good. I used moisture control miracle gro potting soil and it has worked like a charm. The moisture control one claims to help avoid under and over watering. So far so good. Or you can always see what planta recommends! I’ve been following the apps advice for most of my plants and everything has been going well. I swear by grow lights though that’s what has helped me the most. Also make sure your pot is big enough and check out plants with Krystal on insta. She is a huge monstera fan and grows them in water and potting medium indoor and outdoor. She has lots of info on repotting and everything else too! She’s been a life saver

I have my Monstera sitting in a window as well, I rotate it every couple days so all the leaves aren’t strictly going that direction.
